Cholecystokinin – Action and Secretion CCK stimulates the secretion of pancreatic enzymes, gallbladder contraction, and pancreatic growth, and may have a physiological role in inhibiting gastric emptying. Its secretion is stimulated by long-chain fatty acids and certain amino acids such as tryptophan and tyrosine, and it is inhibited by the secretion of bile salts into the small bowel lumen.
